How do I sign up for your service?

Do you provide histology consumables as part of the service?
Yes, we provide formalin containers and a request form. For more information view our consumable request guide.

Do you provide formalin kit training?
Yes, we have a fully trained train the trainer that can provide training either on site or online. For further information about this service please email specimen@ahlab.co.uk.
Do you provide a second opinion and referral service?
Yes, we provide a second opinion / referral service. For more information, please email [email protected]
Do you provide microbiology, haematology and virology?
No, we provide a histopathology and cytopathology service. View our UKAS Schedule of Accreditation for more information.
Do AHL provide MDT attendance?

Can I be provided with a laboratory tour to get a better understanding of the service you provide?
Yes, we are happy to welcome colleagues from different backgrounds and you can also find out more about AHL in our user guide. For further information about arranging a laboratory tour please get in touch with us by emailing [email protected].
How are pathology results provided to the requesting clinicians?
The results are provided via encrypted email and sent to reagreed emails during SLA set up and to all the consultants name and emails provided on the request form. If you find this is not occurring please email [email protected]
How do I notify AHL about sample collection?
To notify AHL of samples to be collected, please email [email protected] or call 0207 636 9447. Should you already know your clinic times and when the samples will be ready, AHL can organise a courier collection at the designated times.
How can I be provided with more information about ODX assays?
ODX assays are external to AHL and for preparation and shipping, please contact the provider directly.
How are the reports provided?
The results are currently provided encrypted via email. AHL can connect in-house Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to clinic software, please get in contact with [email protected] to discuss this option.
